Vietnam, Laos step up cooperation in religious affairs

VOV.VN - Deputy head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bui Thanh Ha has affirmed his committee's readiness to dispatch its senior officials to Laos to provide training courses on religious affairs.

At a meeting with President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee Saysomphone Phomvihane in Hanoi on August 31, Ha said that the committee is revising and updating its teaching documents to improve efficiency.

Both sides continue working closely to improve the effectiveness of religion work under their cooperation agreement signed in 2014.

Saysomphone Phomvihane in turn expressed his pleasure at the fruitful cooperation between the two agencies since 2007 and hailed Vietnam’s training courses for officials of the LFNC as well as other Lao agencies.

He said he hopes that Vietnam will continue helping Laos in short-term and long-term personnel training in Vietnam and asked for assistance from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs in making teaching documents applicable in Laos.
