Vietnam, Japan boost air defence ties

The air defence forces of Vietnam and Japan should broaden cooperation in the areas of flight safety, aviation medicine, and disaster relief in the time to come. 

The statement was made by visiting Chief of Staff of Japan Air Self Defence Force General Haruhiko Kataoka during talks with Deputy Defence Minister cum Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Do Ba Ty in Hanoi on May 13. 

The guest also suggested that the two sides should beef up experience and delegation exchanges in the field. 

The host said Vietnam-Japan defence relations have progressed in their air and naval fields, staff training and information sharing over the past years, helping the bilateral friendship and cooperation further grow and flourish.
