At the meeting, General Lich believed that the dialogue will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two armies, while opening opportunities for their deeper and more effective cooperation.

Leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence will create favourable conditions for both sides to realise their inked agreements as well as draw up new initiatives in defence cooperation, he affirmed.

Earlier, Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh and Udi Adam chaired the first Vietnam-Israel defence policy dialogue, during which they shared their stance on global and regional issues of mutual interest, and discussed measures to deepen the bilateral defence ties.

Vinh and his Israeli guest expressed their delight at the sound Vietnam-Israel relations in recent years, with the defence ties witnessing more comprehensive, practical and effective developments.

The dialogue was organised for the first time ever to concretise commitments of the two countries’ leaders and militaries to enhancing solidarity and friendship, contributing to the global and regional peace, stability and development.

Both sides agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, maintain the defence policy dialogue mechanism, and improve the efficiency of the two ministries’ working group to carry out the signed deals. Particularly, they laid stress on education and training collaboration, seeing it as a bridge to connect the two militaries.

Also, the two armies will work together in addressing post-war consequences, cyber security, and defence industry.
