Vietnam, China agree to forge stronger security cooperation
Vietnam and China have agreed to continue fostering cooperation in ensuring security and order, making it an important pillar of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The Chinese officials welcomed the visit of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation led by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, describing it as an important milestone in the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, including cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
Both sides expressed pleasure at the growing bilateral relations in all fields, especially the effective cooperation between Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry and law enforcement bodies of China.
The outcomes of the talks between the two Party chiefs and the two Party delegations are major orientations for the two Ministries of Public Security to deploy cooperation activities in the future, they said.
In the field of ensuring security and order, the two sides has maintained contact channels to share information about the fight against terrorism, while actively coordinating with each other to combat crimes, especially those related to high technology, drug, human trafficking, fake money smuggling and hunting wanted criminals.
The two sides have also worked closely together in ensuring security and safety for agencies, businesses and their citizens residing in the other country, and building a shared border of peace, friendship and sustainable development.
The two sides concurred to further promote security cooperation by increasing the exchange of delegations at all levels, training personnel and sharing experience in various fields such as preventing and combating terrorism, high technology and trans-national crimes, thus ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of their citizens residing in the other country.
They agreed to work closely together to ensure security and safety for their high-ranking delegations during visits to the other country as well as major political and social events, while enhancing coordination in fighting high technology crimes, drug and human trafficking as well as illegal exit and entrance activities within both bilateral and multilateral cooperation frameworks.
The two sides will also continue to launch crackdowns on all kind of crimes, while strengthening ties in personnel training to improve law enforcement capacity of officials, and promoting the existing cooperation mechanisms among professional units and public security forces in localities.
Sen. Lieut. Gen. To Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security pays much attention to cooperative ties with law enforcement forces of China in ensuring security and order.
He also congratulated the Party, State and people of China on their great achievements in all fields, to which law enforcement agencies have made important contributions.
