Vietnam, Cambodia promote solidarity, friendship

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang’s Party Committee Huynh Van Sum on February 1 held a reception for a delegation from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces’ Military Zone 3 High Command who came to deliver Tet greetings to the local authorities and people.

Congratulating Cambodia’s achievements in the past years, Sum expressed his hope that the country will reap further success and bonds between the two countries in general and between Soc Trang and the Cambodian Military Zone 3 High Command in particular will become more tightened.

He wished that the Cambodian Government will create favourable conditions for Vietnamese nationals working and living in the country.

Meanwhile, Commander Yoeung Sokhon, who led the Cambodian delegation, informed the host of Cambodia’s political and socio-economic situation in the past year and affirmed that its achievements were attained thanks to support of Vietnamese people, including those from Soc Trang province.

He hoped that the friendship and solidarity between the two nations will further develop in the future.

He took the occasion to wish local authorities, armed forces and residents a happy new year.
