Vietnam boosts investment cooperation with Brazil, US

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue received the Ambassadors of Brazil and the US in Hanoi on May 9 to discuss preparations for his upcoming visits to the two nations.

The Deputy PM said Vietnam and Brazil could cooperate in such areas as production and processing, trade of coffee and seafood, renewable energy, bio-technology and defence industry. They should create conditions for their businesses to access each other’s markets.
He expressed his wish that the two governments will set up important links in education, defence, aviation, agriculture and business development.
Brazilian Ambassador Marco Antonio Diniz Brandao said Vietnam and Brazil see numerous opportunities for investment cooperation as the two governments pay attention to developing the private sector. The embassy and the Foreign Ministry of Brazil will try their best to make Hue’s upcoming working visit to Brazil a success, which will foster bilateral political and economic ties.
While receiving US Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink, Deputy PM Hue affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US one of its leading partners and applauded the US’s continued active role in Asia-Pacific, thus contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.
Daniel Kritenbrink said the US wishes to step up practical investment and trade cooperation with Vietnam, adding that US businesses hope to fully access the anticipatable economic policy system of Vietnam.
Both host and guest agreed that the upcoming visit of the Vietnamese Government delegation will offer a chance for the two sides to clear current obstacles to bilateral trade relations.
