Vietnam beefs up ties with Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue received diplomatic representatives of Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia in Hanoi on July 5 to discuss cooperation in preparation for his upcoming visits to these countries later this month.
The official affirmed Vietnam always attaches importance to multifaceted cooperation with Indonesia - its strategic partner.
Talking to New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Wendy Matthews, Hue said Vietnam wants to work further with the country in agriculture, education-training, and disaster-risk management.
The two sides should enhance coordination at multilateral forums and study the elevation of relations from comprehensive partnership to strategic partnership, he added.
The Deputy PM told deputy head of the Australian Embassy Mission to Vietnam Layton Pike that Vietnam appreciates economic-trade-investment ties with Australia and is willing to discuss affairs related to both nations for stronger collaboration and common prosperity.
