Vietnam attributes great importance to partnership with Belarus

She said she hopes that both nations will foster their relations in a multitude of potential aspects, of which defence cooperation should be the major focus of the enhancement of bilateral ties.

Thinh affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to serve as a bridge for Belarus to beef up collaboration with ASEAN nations, while asking the European country to support Vietnam’s bid to run for a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021.

Praising the fruitful defence cooperation between the two countries over the past years, especially in training, military technique, political education for soldiers and people, and information and communications, the Vice President stated that the two sides hold huge potential for stronger cooperation across a variety of fields.

She urged Belarus to ensure the progress and quality of signed military commercial contracts, prioritise collaboration in technological transfer and production of weapons and technical equipment following Vietnam’s demand.

The Vice President also voiced her support for orientations and measures as agreed by the two defence ministers with a particular focus on defence ties, particularly cooperation in military technique.

She suggested Belarus continue offering optimal conditions for Vietnamese citizens’ life as well as supporting the two countries’ businesses in enhancing trade exchanges.
