Vietnam attends La Francophonie ministerial meeting in Paris
A Vietnamese delegation led by Assistant to the Foreign Minister Nguyen Ngoc Son took part in the 34th Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) in Paris on November 25 and 26.

Spotlighting sustainable development, the two-day conference adopted resolutions on blue and green economies, climate change, and dialogue and education for peace.
Participants highlighted the implementation of the Paris climate accord, the importance of freedom, safety and security of navigation and overflight, and settlement of disputes via peaceful measures in line with international law.
As heard at the function, its 35th edition was scheduled for October 2018 in Yerevan, Armenia, at the outset of the 17th OIF summit.
Speaking at the event, Son, also Vietnamese Ambassador to France, said stated as a responsible member, Vietnam is willing to join the OIF activities for peace, cooperation and development.
He informed that Vietnam is running for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council during 2020-2021.
At meetings with the OIF Secretary General and heads of other delegations on the sidelines of the conference, Vietnam suggested future cooperation contents in the sectors of farming, trade-investment, and French education.
