President receives outgoing Czech Republic Ambassador

At the reception, President Quang hailed Ambassador Martin’s role and his positive contributions during his term in Vietnam, thereby helping strengthen the time-honoured friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

Concerning bilateral relations, President Quang appreciated the progress seen in the fields of politics, diplomacy and at multilateral forums while asking both nations to redouble efforts to boost economics, trade and investment so as to fully tap potential of each side. 

The Vietnamese leader also reiterated Vietnam’s readiness to create favorable conditions for Czech Republic enterprises to seek business opportunities in the country.

The Vietnamese State leader suggested the Czech Republic continue to support and promote comprehensive cooperation partnership between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) towards the early signing of the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement (EVFTA), and recognize Vietnam’s market economy status thus facilitating economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two nations.

For its part, Vietnam is willing to assist the Czech Republic in strengthening relations with ASEAN and other member states, Quang told his guest.

The President thanked the Czech Government for its support for overseas Vietnamese, hoping that the country will continue providing assistance to the expatriate community, thus strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples.

He conveyed his invitation to President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman to visit Vietnam in 2017, saying that the maintenance of high-raking visits is vital to foster the political relations, thus bolstering economic links between the two nations. 

Ambassador Martin Klepetko, in turn noted with satisfaction over the growing ties across the board and underlined the need to intensify high-level exchange visits to deepen mutual understanding between the two peoples as well as enhancing economic and trade links as expected.
