President concludes Lao visits, heads to Cambodia
President Tran Dai Quang left Laos on June 14 afternoon to begin his two-day State visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.
Earlier the day, the Vietnamese State leader paid a visit to former General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos Khamtay Siphandone in Champasak province.
The guest affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always attache importance and give the highest priority to consolidating and enhancing the special ties between the two countries.
Vietnam has also paid attention to educating people, especially younger generations, about the relationship between the two countries, as well as the examples set by former Vietnamese and Lao leaders who devoted themselves to the revolutionary cause in each country and bilateral relations, he stressed.
Congratulating the Lao side on achievements they have recorded in national construction and development, President Tran Dai Quang said such fruits are attributable to the efforts and resolve of the entire Lao Party and people, and the significant contributions of generations of Lao leaders, including Khamtay Siphandon.
The host noted with pleasure the attention paid by the two countries’ leaders to strengthening the long-standing friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
On June 14, President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse laid a wreath at a monument in commemoration of the Vietnam-Laos special fighting alliance in Champasak.
The same day, he made a fact-finding trip to Laos-Vietnam Rubber Latex Factory 27-2 based in the province.
