Party official affirms Vietnam’s efforts to foster ties with Thailand

Secretary of the Party Central Committee Nguyen Van Nen has affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State and people will do their best to foster the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.

During talks with President of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand Pornpetch Wichitcholchai in Bangkok on May 18, Nen, who is also chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office, thanked the Thai legislature and government for helping overseas Vietnamese settle down their lives and integrate into the host society.

He also expressed belief that under the rule of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the leadership of the Thai royal government, the Thai country and people will reap more successes in national construction and development.

Wichitcholchai, for his part, hailed the inauguration of President Ho Chi Minh memorial in Nakhon Phanom province as an important activity in celebration for the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, saying that it is concurrent with the 126th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

He spoke highly of positive contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Thailand to the country’s development, saying that they serve as a bridge for close friendship between the two peoples.

The Vietnamese Party official is leading a Party and State delegation on a visit to Thailand from May 17-20 to co-organise the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh memorial in Nakhon Phanom province.

Hosting Chairman of the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association (TVFA) Prachuab Chaiyasan, Nen hoped that the TVFA will work closely with the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association to celebrate the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.

Both sides expressed their wish for increased people-to-people exchange, tourism and cultural cooperation as well as economic and trade links, contributing to further strengthening mutual trust and understanding between the two nations.
