VOV.VN - Myanmar State Counsellor, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of the President’s Office Aung San Suu Kyi is scheduled to make an official visit to Vietnam from April 19-20 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Myanmar was one of the first Southeast Asian countries to establish diplomatic ties with Vietnam in 1975 and gave wholehearted support for Vietnam during the struggles for national independence and reunification.
The two nations upgrade their bilateral ties to a comprehensive cooperative partnership during a State visit to Myanmar by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in August 2017.
Last year's two-way trade hit US$828.3 million 2017, up 51% from 2016. Vietnam has become the 7th biggest foreign investor in Myanmar, pouring nearly US$2 billion in 70 projects in the country.
