Lao PM receives Vietnamese delegation
(VOV) - A delegation from the Vietnam Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by Minister Nguyen Minh Quang was received by Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong in Vientiane on October 23.
At the reception, Minister Quang briefed the Lao PM on the outcome of talks with his Lao counterpart, Noulin Sinbandid, about issues of mutual concern related to natural resources and the environment in their respective countries.
The two ministers discussed orientations for cooperation to effectively exploit common natural resources without causing negative impacts on the environment in the future.
Vietnam is willing to share experiences and cooperate with Laos to tap the potential of the Mekong Delta Basin for the benefit of both nations and the region, Quang said.
At an earlier meeting with a Lao delegation led by Minister Sinbandid, the two sides discussed in-depth proposals on issues of common concern, which will be submitted to the two governments, aiming to boost mutual support in protecting natural resources and the environment.
