Lao Party and State begins Vietnam visit

Vice President Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thinh hosted an official welcome ceremony for standing member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee Phankham Viphavan on an official visit to Vietnam in Hanoi on July 11.

The Vietnam visit is the first overseas trip made by Politburo member Phankham Viphavan following his election as standing member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Vice President for the 2016-2020 tenure. 

After the welcome ceremony, Thinh, Phankham Viphavan and his delegation paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs. 

The same day, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Dinh The Huynh and Vice President Thinh held talks with the visiting Lao official.
