Kon Tum, Stung Treng seek productive cooperation

A delegation from Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Kon Tum visited Cambodia’s Stung Treng province from April 6-7 to tighten relations.

Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Kon Tum provincial Party Committee, asked Stung Treng province and Cambodia to continue helping the Vietnamese relevant force seek and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives in international missions in Cambodia. 

Hung congratulated the party, administration and people of Stung Treng on the traditional New Year festival of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and hoped the unity between the two provinces will increasingly become closer and more effective for their mutual development. 

Mom Saroeun, Governor of Stung Treng, said Stung Treng’s party, government and people will always remember the great assistance of voluntary soldiers and experts from Vietnam in helping Cambodia survive the Khmer Rouge genocide and develop as it is today. 

He said the tradition of unity between two Parties, States and people is the solid foundation for Kon Tum and Stung Treng to cooperate more effectively.

The two sides agreed to co-review their cooperation and potential to seek more productive cooperation forms for mutual development. 

Kon Tum and Stung Treng boast strengths in agriculture, cattle breeding and tourism.
