Friendship groups asked to promote Vietnam-Laos ties

A top Vietnamese lawmaker has urged the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship Associations to increase the dissemination of information about the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries among their people, especially the youth.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong made the request when receiving Chairman of the Laos – Vietnam Friendship Association Vilayvong Bouddakham in Hanoi on November 23.

Phong said Vietnam will work closely with Laos to successfully organise upcoming events, including celebrations for the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations and the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam – Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

She believed that the Lao delegation’s visit will contribute to consolidating the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and Governments. 

Vilayvong Bouddakham informed his host about the outcomes of cooperation between the two associations in the recent time and preparations for the approaching major events.
