Deputy PM meets with WB official

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has met with Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank’s new Regional Vice President for East Asia and Pacific in Hanoi to discuss financing.

At their meeting on July 25 they discussed the World Bank’s growing portfolio of loans in Vietnam for infrastructure, transport, energy, urban improvement, water supply, waste water treatment, climate change adaptation and other projects.

They also discussed the government’s progress in advancing various reforms, including in the areas of taxation, standards, and companies, that are intended to improve the investment climate and that, if passed, could be supported by a World Bank development policy operation.

Ms Kwakwa in turn said she is impressed with the strong development of the country and how the government has prioritized stabilizing macro-economy, coping with climate change and developing infrastructure, transport and energy.
