Bright future for Hanoi-Moscow cooperation

Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov on May 18, where he expressed his belief in the bright future for cooperation between Hanoi and Moscow.

Chung informed his guest that Hanoi had invited the Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ), Russia’s largest vehicle manufacturer, to visit Hanoi to discuss assembling 300 buses for 2016-2017. 

He stated that tariff incentives in the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union free trade agreement, which is about to become effective, will boost trade between the two cities. 

He said he hoped the Moscow Trade-Culture Centre in Hanoi would be put into operation soon to facilitate trade and cultural ties. 

The Russian diplomat pledged to work to help speed up the implementation of cooperation projects. 

He hoped that Hanoi would create favarouble conditions for the construction of the Moscow Trade-Culture Centre. 

He also proposed building a statue of Alexander Pushkin – Russia’s greatest poet – in Hanoi.
