Australia offers continued assistance to Vietnam
(VOV) - Australia will continue to assist Vietnam to realize its development goals, Ambassador Hugh Borrowman told Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh in Hanoi on April 11.
The Australian government encourages its businesses to seek cooperation opportunities and expand investment in Vietnam as the country has an increasing role in the region and international forums, said the diplomat.
He hailed Vietnam’s improved investment environment and said the Australian government describes the cooperation model between Qantas and Vietnam Airlines as exemplary in the two countries’ growing economic and trade ties.
Deputy PM Ninh noted that the Vietnam-Australia relations have developed strongly in all areas, especially in economics, trade, investment, infrastructure development, education and culture.
He expressed his belief that the bilateral relationship will further develop this year when both countries are celebrating 40 years of diplomatic ties.
He highly valued the long-term strategic partnership between Australia’s Qantas and Vietnam Airlines through increasing investment in their JV Jestar Pacific Airlines.
Alan Joyce, Qantas managing director, assured Ninh that the Australian flag carrier will enter a long-term cooperation partnership with Vietnam Airlines to develop the air transport market in Vietnam.
