Young Vietnamese pianist wins prestigious competition

VOV.VN - Luu Duc Anh of Vietnam outplayed nine of the world's most talented young pianists and won the 2017 prestigious piano contest that transpired in Collioure, France this past June 26-30.

Duc Anh played selections from composers Brahms, Liszt and Bruno Mantanani.

Collioure is known as an artistic hub of creativity. Inspiration to greats such as Picasso and Dali, the quaint Catalan back streets nestled between the mythical Albères and the glistening Mediterranean are nothing short of picture perfect.

Nine young prodigies competed at the event, in the hope of winning the Grand Prix Alain Marinaro. No mean feat.

The jury, presided over by local legend, Daniel Tosí, also included the formidable reputations of Varduhi Yéristsyan and Michel Béroff, both acclaimed international concert performers, and Bruno Mantanani, director of the Parisian conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse.
