Young boy wins at first season of Junior Masterchef contest
Dinh Thanh Hai, a 13-year-old young chef, has become a champion of the first season of Junior Masterchef Vietnam contest which wrapped up recently.

Hai was born and grew up in the coastal city of Nha Trang, but he has come to Ho Chi Minh City with his parents for two years.
He is now a student of Nguyen Khuyen Private High School located in the city’s Tan Binh District. Besides learning, he spends most of his time on cooking delicious dishes for his family from traditional meals to European foods.
Therefore, Hai has five years of experience in cooking in the kitchen despite his young age.
On the final round that was broadcast on VTV3 channel on December 25, the 13-year-old young chef has made a great impression on the judging board, not only for his good-looking appearance but also his confidence to face with all challenges.
He also received compliments from the judging panel for his cooking talent.
In addition, the champion of the contest received a prize worth VND200 million (some US$8,788)
Besides, the runner-up of the contest went to Nguyen Danh Duc Hai from the capital city of Hanoi. Inspired from his mother and grandparents, Duc Hai has shown keen interests in cooking since he was seven.
The young boy also received high appreciation from the judging panel for his gentle nature and willingness to help other candidates.
The contest, organized by VTV, BHD Company and LIF KUN brand was aimed to nurture the love for cooking and cuisine among local children.
The first season consisted of 12 episodes that were broadcast ed on VTV3 channel every Sunday at 8 p.m., starting from October 2.
