World-renowned violinist to make first Hanoi appearance at “Fantastique!” concert

VOV.VN - Legendary American violinist Joshua Bell will make his Hanoi debut at the “Fantastique!” concert to be held at Ho Guom Opera House on October 31.

He will perform with the Sun Symphony Orchestra under the baton of music director Olivier Ochanine.

As the final stop of his Asian tour in October, Bell will present celebrated works including Camille Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 in B minor, Op. 61.

Joshua David Bell, a violinist and conductor, is currently the music director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. He has performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Musikverein, and Royal Albert Hall with leading orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, NDR Elbphilharmonie, and the London Symphony Orchestra.

On October 14, Bell was appointed an honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire by King Charles III.

The “Fantastique!” concert will open with Hector Berlioz’s Hungarian March from The Damnation of Faust, Op. 24, followed by Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 performed by Bell, and conclude with Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14.

The concert is set to begin at 8 p.m. on October 31 at Ho Guom Opera House. Ticket prices range from VND1 million to VND3 million.
