World renowned pianist Boris Giltburg thrills crowds in Ho Chi Minh City
VOV.VN -Music lovers in Ho Chi Minh City were thrilled by a spectacular performance put on by renowned classical pianist Boris Giltburg on May 21 as part of his “SOLO International Concert Series”.

The Israeli artist played a total of 15 famous pieces byworld leading composers, including Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Stravinsky.
Most notably, in the two-hour concert he also performed the Vietnamese piece “Trống cơm” (rice drum) composed by Dang Huu Phuc.
Following the event, Giltburg spent time signing autographs and meeting some of his Vietnamese fans.
Giltburg shared that he had learnt about Vietnamese history and culture through the media and felt that Vietnamese music gave him a strong source of energy.
Giltburg, 40, hails from Russia and is regarded as one of the most inspiring and compelling concert pianists of this generation.
Since winning the Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition in 2013, he has performed in many of the most prestigious venues globally, including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Southbank Centre.
He has also worked alongside many top orchestras and conductors from across the world, including with the Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, the Czech Philharmonic, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Dresden Philharmonic, the NHK Symphony, the Santa Cecilia di Roma, and at the BBC Proms.
