Week celebrating ethnic groups’ heritage to open
Hundreds of representatives from various ethnic groups will participate in cultural activities organised at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism between November 18 and 23.

Eight ethnic groups of Tay (from northern province of Thai Nguyen), Thai (central province of Nghe An), Muong (northern province of Hoa Binh) and Dao (Hanoi), as well as Kho Mu (northern province of Dien Bien), Ba Na (central highland province of Gia Lai), E De (central province of Dak Lac) and Khmer (southern province of Soc Trang) will display their handicrafts, folk music, games, festivals and customs.
Students from art, cultural institutions and theatres throughout the country will also take part in performances at the event.
A photo contest for photographers throughout the country featuring activities at the village over the past few years will also be held.
The organisers will give out the awards to the winners on November 18. The awards consist of two first, two second, four third and six encouragement prizes.
