Washington D.C. family festival honours Vietnam’s traditional values
VOV.VN - The Diplomatic Spouses Association and representative offices of Vietnamese agencies in Washington D.C., USA, organised a Vietnamese village family festival on August 3 mark major celebrations of the fatherland in August.

The festival was held at Rock Creek State Park to mark Vietnamese Family Day 2025, honour the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families, and strengthen community ties in the United States.
In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung emphasised that the festival represents an opportunity to promote and preserve the traditions of Vietnamese families, while also demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and unity within the community.
Such solidarity provides a strong emotional foundation for community members during their time living and working in the United States, he added.
Also, as part of the gathering, 130 children of employees of Vietnamese representative agencies in Washington D.C. received rewards in recognition of their efforts in study during the year.
Set against the backdrop of Washington’s vibrant summer weather, the event offered a joyful and heartfelt atmosphere for families. Enthusiastic participation in traditional games and activities, including tug-of-war, relay sack races, and mini football, brought lively energy to the gathering. Children also contributed with cheerful and engaging performances, adding to the warm and festive spirit that defined this memorable day for the Vietnamese community in Washington, D.C.
