War film Red Rain wins Best Feature Film at Golden Kite Awards 2025
VOV.VN - Revolutionary war film Mưa đỏ (Red Rain) won the Best Feature Film at the 2025 Golden Kite Awards, Vietnam’s most prestigious annual cinema honours, at a ceremony held in Hanoi on January 15.
The Golden Kite Awards, organised by the Vietnam Cinema Association, recognise outstanding achievements across film and television, including feature films, TV dramas, documentaries, scientific films, animation and short films.
Addressing the event, Associate Professor Dr. Do Le Hung Tu, President of the Vietnam Cinema Association, noted that the awards have completed 22 seasons, contributing significantly to the development of Vietnamese cinema and nurturing generations of filmmakers.
The 2025 season saw the participation of 164 entries, including 15 feature films, 13 television series, 72 documentaries, 10 science films, 24 animated films, and 30 short films by young filmmakers, reflecting the growing diversity of the industry.
Red Rain received the Golden Kite Awards in the Feature Film category, while Silver Kite Awards were given to “Địa đạo: Mặt trời trong bóng tối” (Tunnels: Sun in the Dark), “Tử chiến trên không” (Hijacked) and “Chị dâu” (Sister-in-law).
Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen was honoured as the Best Director for Red Rain. The Best Screenplay award went to Ham Tran and Nguyen Hoang Duong for Hijacked.
Also in the same category, the Best Actor award was delivered to Tuan Tran in Mang mẹ đi bỏ (Leaving mon). Viet Huong starring in Sister-in-law and Hong Dao in Leaving mon won Best Actress awards.
In the Television film category, Không thời gian (No time) won the Golden Kite Award and also claimed Best Screenplay, highlighting the overall quality of its production.
The organisation board also presented Golden Kite Awards to works in other categories such as Documentary Film, Scientific Film, Cartoon, and Short Film.
