VOV ready for 'ASEAN+3 Song Contest'

VOV.VN - The organizing board pins high hope on the 'ASEAN+3 Song Contest' as a contribution to strengthening peaceful and friendly relations among ASEAN countries.

Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will host an ASEAN regional song competition August 18-21 at the FLC Sam Son Resort in the northern central coastal province of Thanh Hoa.

The event is organized as part of the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the 72nd anniversary since the formation of VOV (September 7, 1945-2017).

This is the first time for VOV to host a such competition for ASEAN contestants specialized in pop music.

According to Director of VOV International Cooperation Department Nguyen Thuy Hoa who is also a representative of the organizing board, the pop music competition with the participation of young singers will contribute to promoting cross-cultural exchanges among ASEAN countries.

In his remarks at a press briefing on the contest in Hanoi on August 7, VOV Vice President Vu Hai said apart from creating a cultural playing field through music, the “ASEAN+3 Song Contest” will become a highlight of VOV's activities underlining the importance and great contributions of a national media organization to boosting cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries in the region and in the world.

VOV believes strongly the event serves as a platform for young singers to both showcase and nurture their talent as well as contributes to more peaceful, stable and secure relations among ASEAN +3 member countries.
