Vietnam’s landscapes, people and culture showcased at ASEAN sports meetings
VOV.VN - Delegates from ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste had the opportunity to view a photo display in Hanoi on October 13, highlighting Vietnam’s distinctive landscapes, people, and culture.
The event was part of the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS 8), the 16th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Sports (SOMS 16), and related meetings underway from October 13-17.
Organized by the Sports Authority of Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the display introduced ASEAN sports officials and international guests to Vietnam’s iconic destinations, rich cultural heritage, and recent sporting achievements.
It featured artistic photographs capturing the blooming buckwheat fields of Ha Giang’s stone plateau, the scenic terraced rice fields, and The Huc Bridge reflected in Hoan Kiem Lake.
Visitors also saw images of the Central Highlands Gong Festival, the Tu Lu folk game of the Mong ethnic group, the Thai Vi Temple procession in northern Ninh Binh province, and the renowned Dong Ho folk paintings.
Beyond celebrating culture, the display highlighted Vietnam’s notable sporting accomplishments, from medals at the SEA Games and ASIAD to profiles of standout athletes, reflecting the nation’s resilience, determination, and drive for excellence.
Hosting AMMS 8 and SOMS 16 underscores Vietnam’s growing role, influence, and international standing in regional sports cooperation while offering a platform to showcase a dynamic, innovative, and culturally rich Vietnam.
Through the event, international delegates gained a deeper understanding of the Vietnamese people, admired not only for their warmth and hospitality but also for their resilience, courage, and ambition, reinforcing friendship, solidarity, and cooperation across the ASEAN community.
Vietnamese artist’ paintings displayed at exhibition promoting ASEAN connection
Two paintings by Vietnamese artist Nguyen Tuan Son are being displayed at an exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which brings together over 150 literature works and paintings of famous artists from ten ASEAN countries.
