Vietnam’s first ever art auction house to be opened

Vietnam’s first ever auction house for fine art will open on September 24 on the first floor of Block 25T, Plot N05, Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district under the management of Lac Viet Auction JSC, according to Do Thi Hong Hanh, General Director of the company. 

The 1,000 sq.m two-storey house will mainly be used for exhibitions and auctions. 

Six artworks will be auctioned at the opening ceremony, with five of the pieces’ starting prices ranging from VND15 to 50 million (US$670 to US$2,240). 


Vietnamese artist Nguyen Thu’s silk picture of Phong canh Tay Bac (Northeastern Landscape) created in 1991 is also available, starting at 110 million VND (US$4,930). 


Lac Viet Auction JSC has so far held about 1,000 auction sessions in Vietnam.
