Vietnamese, US choirs on same stage

The Ho Chi Minh Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera and the US’s CREDO choir will stage “Verleih uns Frieden” and “Let there be peace on earth” under the special music programme “summer melody” scheduled for June 14 at Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is part of the Asia tour in 2018 by the US 115-member community choir, founded and led by Jonathan Palant, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Texas.

Under the music programme, Vietnamese artists will perform “Come to the music” by Joseph M.Martin and “Con Lon ruc ro” (effulgent Con Lon) by Tran Manh Hung. The choir will be led by renowned conductor Tran Nhat Minh.

Meanwhile, CREDO will stage some popular works such as “Wanting Memories”, “Ubi Caritas”, “I Will Be a Child of Peace”, and “I’ll Be On My Way”.

The music programme is expected to open new cooperation opportunities between the two sides in the future.
