Vietnamese Poetry Day to be observed as festival
The annual Vietnamese Poetry Day will be organised as a festival with myriad activities, said Huu Thinh, President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, on February 19.
Poetry lovers are expected to enjoy a festive atmosphere totally different from previous Poetry Days, with a string of art performances, exchanges with authors, and exhibitions.

There will be a playground for up to 200 children from schools and poetry clubs in Hanoi , and another for young poets from cities and provinces nationwide, Huu Thinh added.
Since its debut on Nguyen Tieu (the 15th day of the first lunar month) in 2003, Vietnam Poetry Day, the biggest poetry event in the country, has become a national spring tradition.
Starting out as an initiative from the Vietnam Writers' Association, Poetry Day has been organised in many provinces and cities to honour poetry, which has been an integral part of Vietnamese culture for thousands of years.
