Vietnamese photographer wins gold prize at TIFA photo contest
VOV.VN - A Vietnamese female photographer has won two high prizes, including a gold medal at the world’s famous photo competition, Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) 2020.
According to organizers of TIFA 2020, Khanh Phan won gold prize in the People / Culture category for her image "Children Dancing With Gong" and the silver prize at the Advertising / Travel / Tourism category for her picture "Drying Fish".
The "Children Dancing With Gong" picture was taken on December 2, 2018 at a festival of the Jrai ethnic minorities in the central highlands of Gia Lai province while the "Drying Fish" photo was taken on July 26, 2020 at Long Hai fish market in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau.
TIFA is a prestigious international photo contest that includes nine categories of advertising, architecture, books, editorial, events, art, nature, people and science.
Earlier last year, another Vietnamese photographer named Bui Huy Trang also bagged gold prize in the Book / Documentation category of the competition.
