VOV.VN - Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Della Seta has presented his country’s Order of Merit to Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, director general of the international cooperation department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Dr. Hoa received the honour at a ceremony held on January 6 in Hanoi.

The Order of Merit is awarded to foreign individuals who have made particularly important contributions to the development of the relationship between the two countries in general and for Italy in particular.

In his address, Ambassador Seta noted that Dr. Hoa has significantly contributed to promoting cultural ties between both sides, including the establishment of Casa Italia (Italian House) in Vietnam, a culture co-operation programme between the Governments of Vietnam and Italy for the 2023 to 2026 period, and a special art programme celebrating the 50th anniversary of both nations' diplomacy at the Presidential Palace in Rome.

Dr. Hoa expressed that the Order represents the Italian State's acknowledgment of the efforts and contributions of herself and her colleagues.

She vowed that her team would continue to dedicate themselves to strengthening the international relationship between Vietnam and Italy in the future.
