Vietnamese Mother Goddess and Hau Dong ritual introduced in Australia
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Center and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sydney, co-hosted a programme aimed at introducing Vietnam's Mother Goddess culture through Hau Dong (or trance ritual) to audiences and overseas Vietnamese people in Australia.
Nguyen Anh Vu, chairman of the Vietnam Center, emphasised that the scheme "Divine Feminine of the East" aims to help overseas Vietnamese and international friends gain greater insights into Vietnamese traditions and culture.
The belief among Vietnamese people of Mother Goddess worship is a unique cultural belief that has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Vietnam since 2016.
The programme therefore provides audiences in Sydney with a fresh perspective on Vietnamese culture, in which the image of Vietnamese women clearly appears in the culture and people's spiritual life.
