Vietnamese men’s team places 17th at Chess Olympiad 2014

(VOV) -The Vietnamese men’s chess team has moved up 15 notches to 17th place at the 2014 Chess Olympiad taking place in the Norwegian city of Tromso after defeating Peru 3.5-0.5 in the ninth round on August 12.
Le Quang Liem drew with Granda Zuniga Julio while his teammates Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, Nguyen Duc Hoa and Nguyen Van Huy beat their Peruvian competitors.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese female team was defeated by Romania 1.5-2.5 and ranked 18th at the tournament.
