Vietnamese food ‘sells out’ at festival in Japan
VOV.VN - Every year Japan celebrates a national holiday called Culture Day (Bunka no hi) on November 3 to commemorate the announcement of the post-war Japanese constitution on this date in 1946.
Culture Day is a day to promote the nation’s history, its tradition, arts and achievements through exhibits, parades and events like the culture and food festival in Kyoto, Japan. |
This year members of the Vietnamese Youth Student Association enthusiastically joined in celebrating the event and set up a food booth at the festival in Kyoto. |
The Youth Association brought a lot of supplies to prepare traditional dishes, typical of their country to introduce. They are exceptionally well received by their Japanese hosts. |
The Vietnamese students set up a food booth at the event preparing chicken pho (pho ga), fried spring rolls (nem ran) and Vietnamese coffee with milk (ca phe sua) among other items. |
Proceeds from the sale of food will be used by the students to assist victims of the flooding in the central region of Vietnam over the past two months. |
By the end of the day it’s a complete ‘sell out’ as the students have nothing absolutely nothing left. |

All told they sell 350 bowls of chicken pho (pho ga), 600 spring rolls (nem ran) along with hundreds of cups of coffee with milk (ca phe sua). |
