Vietnamese beauties enjoying national costume wins at global pageants

VOV.VN - Quynh Mai, Tuong San, and Minh Tu are among the Vietnamese beauties to have worn an Ao Dai, a traditional long dress, and finished first in the national costume segments of their respective world pageants throughout the years.

Truong Quynh Mai became the first Vietnamese representative to compete in Miss International 1995 in Japan. The competition was a success for the beauty as she recorded a Top 15 finish whilst also winning the national costume sub-title in an Ao Dai by designer Duc Hung. |

Cao Thuy Linh wins the best national costume award during Miss Grand International 2014, receiving a cash prize of US$2,000 in the process. |

Whilst taking part in Miss International 2019, Nguyen Tuong San chose to wear a bespoke outfit by designer Ho Hoang Ca Dao. The Vietnamese dragon served as the main inspiration for the design, a feature that can often be seen in Vietnamese architecture. |

Tuong San successfully recorded a Top 8 finish in the pageant, in addition to finishing first in the national costume category. This win represents the second highest prize that a Vietnamese girl has ever won in the Miss International pageant, following Thuy Van’s third runner-up spot in 2015. |

Minh Tu wins first position in the national costume segment of Miss Supranational 2018. Her Ao Dai features a number of images displaying a phoenix and Vietnamese people, showcasing the unity and solidarity that exists between ethnic groups across the country. |
