Vietnam wins chess friendly tournament in Singapore

(VOV) - HCM City’s chess team, representing the nation, has won the chess friendly tournament that concluded in Singapore on February 22. 

Coach Hoang Dinh Hong guided his players Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang, Nguyen Tran Do Ninh, Tran Chanh Tam, and Diep Khai Nguyen to a 5-3 victory over hosts Singapore in the tournament’s first leg.

Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang defeated Kang Ter Yong 2-0, Nguyen Tran Do Ninh drew against Lu Yo Long 1-1, Tran Chanh Tam beat Lin Yao Sen 2-0, and Diep Khai Nguyen lost to Wu Song Han 0-2.

The Vietnamese team then dominated in the second leg, finishing the games with a score of 6-1.

The Vietnamese chess players will now return home ahead of the national championships, scheduled for HCM City’s Phu Tho Competition Hall from February 26 to March 8.
