Vietnam water puppetry takes centre stage in ROK
VOV.VN - Puppeteer Phan Thanh Liem will introduce Vietnam water puppetry to audiences at the Yang-ju Culture and Arts Centre July 25-Aug 10 to mark the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Republic of Korea diplomatic relations.
Liem and his 4 colleagues will have 8 performances in the ROK, each lasts 50 minutes.
Chu Teu is the most notable character in water puppetry, performing humorous actions for the audience. Other repertoires will feature the daily life of Vietnamese farmers, and historical legends related to tending buffalo, catching fish, and lion dancing.
Puppeteer Phan Thanh Liem is the initiator of mini water puppetry. He has been invited to perform in the UK, Thailand, China, Malaysia, Canada, Italy and Poland.
This is the third time he has performed in the ROK.
