Vietnam to welcome S20 Songkran Music Festival for first time
VOV.VN - The Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City will host the S20 Vietnam Songkran Music Festival, the first event of its kind, from May 11 to May 12.
One of Asia’s biggest music festivals is set to make its way from Thailand to Vietnam for the first time ever, with the occasion featuring the participation of leading DJs from around the world.
The festival began in Thailand back in 2015 during Songkran, the Thai New Year’s Festival where the streets become a battleground for a hue water fight. At the Songkran Music Festival, a giant hose is used to spray the crowd from the stage as revelers enjoy dance music. Indeed, the event is known as the music festival where participants will get the most wet.
The attendance rate has rapidly increased over recent years. During the festival each year 55,000 people turned up for the event, including both Thai people and people from around the world.
The electronic music festival has since expanded to other countries in Southeast Asia, including Japan, Taiwan (China), and Myanmar.
