Vietnam to take part in Dance Proms 2017

Choreographer Alexander Tu and The Young Lyricist will represent Vietnam to compete at the Dance Proms 2017 in London, the UK from November 5 to 11.

The team not only makes the first Vietnamese appearance at the international competition, but also is the only Asian representative to perform at the Royal Albert Hall this year.

The Young Lyricist groups 10 members, aged between 12 and 16 years old. They have been trained with examination syllabi for students provided by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).

The song Sac Mau (Colours) by musician Tran Tien and Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) by designer Trinh Hoang Dieu have been earmarked for their upcoming performance in London.

First held in 2011, Dance Proms is a collaborative project between two of the world’s leading dance training and awarding bodies, the ISTD, and the Royal Academy of Dance, with the Royal Albert Hall.
