Vietnam to compete in 20 Asiad sports
(VOV) -Vietnamese athletes will compete in 20 sports at the 17th Asian Games (Asiad) due to take place in Incheon, the Republic of Korea, in September.
They aim to reach top three positions in 15 sports including shooting, archery, weightlifting, rowing, fencing, track-and-field, swimming, wushu, karate, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, judo, sepak takraw and gymnastics.
At the previous Asiad Games in Guangzhou, China, Vietnam won just one gold medal, by karate artist Le Bich Phuong. This year, the country hopes to bring home at least two gold medals.
Vietnam will host the 18th Asiad Games in 2019.
