Vietnam second at international volleyball event

Vietnam finished second after losing to China’s Jiangsu (25-21, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19) in the final match of the International Women’s Volleyball Tournament (VTV Cup) late last week in the northern province of Ninh Binh. 

In the third place play-off match, Shandong defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-17).

Jiangsu walked away with a US$10,000 cash prize, while the runners up, Vietnam and Shandong, received US$7,000 and US$5,000, respectively.

The event’s organising board presented the best player award to Vietnamese star Pham Thi Ngoc Hoa.
