Vietnam promotes culture and handicraft products in Brunei
VOV.VN - The Embassy of Vietnam in Brunei in collaboration with the International School Brunei (ISB) organised a cultural exchange on July 2 to introduce Vietnamese literature and hand-embroidered art works to international students.

Around 30 students from grades 7 to 12, representing various nationalities, participated in a traditional hand embroidery workshop. They decorated their products with distinctive H’Mong patterns under the guidance of Madam Le Thi Hong Ngoan, the Ambassador’s spouse; Maisarah Nguyen, founder of the handicraft business Rattan House; and Pham Thu Phuong, a representative of the Vietnamese community in Brunei.
The programme conveyed a strong environmental message by using natural and recycled materials such as old newspapers, used plastic bottles, and dried plants. Organisers shared plans to continue exploring Brunei’s natural resources for use in Vietnamese handicrafts, further contributing to cultural exchange between the two countries.
On this occasion, the Embassy of Vietnam donated a number of Vietnamese literature and cultural research works to the ISB library. Among them were famous literary works translated into English such as Diary of a Cricket by writer To Hoai, as well as I See Yellow Flowers in the Green Grass and Ticket to Childhood by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh.
Ambassador Tran Anh Vu expressed his hope that ISB students and international friends would actively explore Vietnamese culture through these works and their successful film adaptations.
ISB, a prestigious educational institution in Brunei with over 60 years of history, currently enrolls approximately 1,400 students and lecturers from diverse backgrounds. ISB leaders expressed a desire to welcome more Vietnamese students and foster greater cooperation with educational institutions in Vietnam.
