Vietnam partakes in 33rd Geochang International Festival of Theaters

VOV.VN - An art troupe of the Hue Royal Art Theatre attended the 33rd Geochang International Festival of Theaters on August 1 and August 2 held in the Republic of Korea.

The audience immersed themselves in the various sounds and colours of the cultural and artistic space to thoroughly enjoy Hue's intangible cultural heritage nhã nhạc (Vietnamese court music).

The art troupe of the Hue Royal Art Theatre brought with it 11 art performances lasting a total of 60 minutes to the festival.

Along with royal art, the audience was also entertained with various songs and a fashion show on traditional costumes inspired by the landscapes and landmarks of the ancient capital of designer Quang Hoa.

Launched back in 1989, the event began as the October Theater Festival featuring troupes from Gyeongsangnam-do province. As foreign groups began to participate, the festival in 1995 was expanded to an international theater gala.

The 33rd edition of the festival this year attracts hundreds of artists from France, Belgium, Germany, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Italy, Mongolia, and Vietnam.

The occasion also saw the delegation of Thua Thien Hue province co-operate with Korean localities in order to promote cultural heritage and seek measures to boost tourism and socio-economic development.
