Vietnam music video honoured at Asian Television Awards
VOV.VN - Vietnamese producer K-ICM has been named as the winner of the Best Music Video category at the 26th Asian Television Awards (ATA) for his MV “Chim Quý Trong Lồng” known as “Precious bird imprisoned in a cage” in English.
The win marks the second consecutive year that a local representative has topped the category.
The MV, which was originally shot in 2020 and performed by singer Van Mai Huong, is considered a declaration of independence for young people who are subject to prejudice and want to challenge it.
Within an hour of its initial release, “Chim Quý Trong Lồng” quickly led iTunes Vietnam and the Hot14 real-time rankings.
The MV surpassed other rivals from Singapore, India, the Philippines, and Taiwan (China) to win the Best Music Video title.
Launched in 1996, the Asian Television Awards is the Asian television industry’s most significant and celebrated event, serving to recognise excellence in programming, production, and performance.
The 26th contest this year comprised 51 categories across short video and social, digital, technical and creative, performance and programming.
