Vietnam leads SEA chess championships

(VOV) - The country topped the list of the Southeast Asian championships’ Go event, which closed in Malaysia on December 7.
It got total 17 points and won one gold medal in team part. It was trailed by Thailand (15 points) and Singapore (14 points).
In the individual part, Tran Quang Tue bagged one silver medal after receiving 4 points, ranked second and Do Khanh Binh obtained one bronze medal with 4 points, placed third.
Other Vietnamese players, Pham Nguyen Huu Loc (4 points), Pham Thi Kim Long (3 points), Nguyen Thi Tam Anh (2 points) came fourth, seventh and twentieth, respectively.
The tournament attracted 28 athletes from five countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Vietnam sent five players to the event.
