Vietnam International Fashion Week returns in June with focus on young talent
VOV.VN - Vietnam International Fashion Week will return in June for its Spring-Summer 2026 edition, following 20 seasons that have helped shape the identity of Vietnamese fashion and strengthen its international presence.
Organizers said the event not only celebrates cultural identity but also serves as a platform for a younger generation of models, fashion icons and designers expressing their own perspectives through fashion.
Instead of selecting a well-known designer to open the event as in previous years, organizers have chosen a young designer to launch this season’s edition.
The opening collection will come from Môi Điên Studio, a fashion label founded by designer Tom Trandt Minh Dao, an alumnus of Parsons School of Design, part of The New School in New York.
Tom Trandt has spent the past decade pursuing sustainable fashion by repurposing leftover fabrics, surplus materials and production waste to create one-of-a-kind designs.
At this year’s event, the designer will introduce a collection titled “Nguồn” (Source), carrying a message encouraging young people to confidently embrace their authentic identity. The collection will continue to focus on materials, tailoring and silhouettes while creating new structures and forms.
“This collection continues, revises and develops ideas from my previous collections as part of a continuous creative flow aimed at building more sustainable values for the future,” Tom Trandt said.
Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2026 will take place from June 18-21 at Nguyen Du Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City.
