Vietnam Film Festival closes in Vung Tau City

VOV.VN - The 21st Vietnam Film Festival concluded in Vung Tau City in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau on November 27, with the event honouring various humanistic and creative movies. 

The event showcases different aspects of the nation’s identity, in addition to recognizing artists who enjoy outstanding achievements over the past year.The four-day event takes place every two years. This year’s version saw a total of 74 national artworks showcased, including 16 feature films, 29 documentary films, nine science films, and 20 animated films. The awards for Best Sound and Best Art Design went to artist Vu Thanh Long and painter Ghia Pham for the movie “Song Lang”, also known as The Tap Box.
Doan Nhat Trung from the movie “Cua Lai Vo Bau”, known in English as Win My Baby Back, receives the Best Screenplay award.
Leon Le from the movie “Song Lang”, also known as The Tap Box, bags the Best Director award.
“Chu Oi Dung Lay Me Con”, known as Please Don’t Marry My Mom in English, by director Dinh Tuan Vu wins the Most Favourite Movie award.
The festival’s most prestigious prize is the Golden Lotus. This year’s winner of the famed award in the documentary film category went to the movie “Chong Chenh”.
In addition to the Best Director award, “Song Lang”, also received the Golden Lotus award in the feature film category.
A number of celebrities join in the festival, including actress Ngo Thanh Van,
actresses Mai Thu Huyen (L) and Minh Thu (R)
director Duc Thinh and his wife,
 Actor Tran Bao Son.
